Wow, a liberal guy, the former editor of Popular Mechanics, says the Green New Deal is a bad idea. You could have asked me. Yes, I still want fresh air, safe drinking water, and cheap energy, however, current alternative energy sources such as solar and wind energy are poor providers. To make current renewables work we have to solve the battery issue.

Batteries are toxic, use a large amount of fossil fuel to produce, and are extremely hazardous to dispose of. If we solve the battery problem of storage, toxic chemicals, and disposal, it might make the eleven to twenty-two percent solar cells efficiency reasonable.

Storing and producing energy closer to the user is more efficient. A lot of energy is lost in the transmission of power from the say, a dam on a river to a city many miles and sometimes hundreds of miles away. It is also expensive and dangerous to maintain the powerlines running across the country.

It is uncertain what new technology or discovery will help the world's energy problems. The certainty is that scientist, engineers, and inventors are working to solve our energy needs.

From my own research, I know that we should stop building more wind farms. Wind turbines are inefficient, need constant cleaning, and are difficult and dangerous to maintain. We should use the money to build solar arrays. They are easier and safer to clean and maintain,  simple to upgrade and work in most areas of our country.

I also like nuclear power. New designs are small and powerful enough to run a small city of fifty to sixty thousand people. They use golfball size fuel to make energy and are much safer than traditional nuclear power plants. Another advantage of a local power plant is there is less energy loss from the transmission of the electrical power. These plants are also easier to harden against terrorist attacks and electrical magnetic pulses (EMPs) generated by high altitude nuclear detonations.

I can go on and on about alternative energy power generation. A friend of mine and I in Hawaii proposed the building of a plasma gasification plant. It would solve a big problem for the island state by getting rid of some landfills that use up precious real estate and as a by-product produce much-needed electricity. There are a lot more ideas where that came from but for right now I will end it here.

Resist with all your might! I am not a homophobe. I know many homosexuals and lesbians and are related to a few. I don't condone their lifestyle choices, however, I would not turn them away if they seek help for whatever reason, food, clothing, shelter, counseling, etc. I love all people. God does not make trash. People choose and God lets them.

The scientist who has not come out to say that there are only two biological sexes need to have their facts checked. Chromosomes determine your sex if you have two "X" chromosomes you are a girl and if you have one "X" and one "Y" chromosome you are a boy, these are facts, not opinions, facts. I know you want to say that there have been people born with two types of genitalia. This very rare and does happen, however, by checking the chromosomes you can tell which sex they are.

Gender identification is a social construct it is an opinion and no, opinions are not facts. Transgenders are in need of attention. They want people, family, and friends to pay attention to them. Studies have shown that children who think they are transgender usually become transgender after seeing one of their friends become transgender. Many became transgender because of attention or what psychologist call gender dysphoria. Some go on to have gender reassignment surgery and after a time commit suicide at a higher rate than everyone else because of regret. Again this fact not opinion.

Lastly (if I put this at the beginning not a lot of people would read to here), sex in any homosexual, lesbian, or same-sex relationship is unacceptable to God. This has been a teaching of the Catholic Church for two thousand years. It is unfortunate that in recent years there are some priest and bishops who are gay and some have been found to have their gay loves in the rectories. It is also difficult to teach the faithful when we have a Pope who makes ambiguous statements. Though the Pope may say strange things it does not change the teachings of the Church.

God became a man, Jesus, and established the Catholic Church on Earth Himself. If you are struggling with your sexuality pray. Pray the Rosary, use the sacrament of penance or more commonly called confession to ask for forgiveness, pray for healing and receive communion. Return to God, return to the Church, and return to your family. Amen.

Should Hawaii be a Sanctuary State?

Hawaii the place I grew up in, the place where the majority of my family and friends live, to me it is home even though I live in Oregon. I was recently there for Christmas. I meet with friends and family. Showed my daughter some of the places that were special to me. Enjoyed the smell of the salty air and the warmth of the sun. I did all of these things and not once did it cross my mind that I should relocate back to Hawaii. Just now I realized how sad that I have no intention of returning home for good.

I left Hawaii to have a better future for my children. I left so I didn't have to work so hard which made life suck, wake up early, work job one, work job two, work job three, eat, sleep and repeat. I have been living away for over 18 years and the only thing I miss about Hawaii are my family and friends. I realized I didn't have time to go to the beach, go fishing, or diving while I was living in Hawaii. All I was worried about was how I was going to pay for this bill or that tax or even for food. It was a never-ending battle.

My life now is way better. I am not worried about the bills as much. (No I didn't win the lottery or get a large inheritance) I am able to make sure that my child is getting the best education and growing up better then I did. My life isn't all sunshine. I have been stricken with rheumatoid arthritis and can't work and I spend most of my time at home. An advantage for me to read and write and learn. I am blessed with a wife who is caring and understanding and I have children and grandchildren who bring joy to my life.

Now back to the topic at hand. Hawaii will be in greater trouble than it already is if it becomes a sanctuary state. Homeless people were already a problem when I left Hawaii in 2001. I could see how the problem on the Big Island had grown to make a place I use to play and party at becoming unusable to the people and unsafe for children. Some of the people rely heavily on the state for food, clothing and everyday items like soap. Though many organizations that help are funded by donations, people living in Hawaii pay a premium price for everything.

Inviting lawbreakers into Hawaii is a seriously bad idea. Illegal Aliens who do not care about the laws of our sovereignty may continue to break other laws to get what they want. What about all of the other people who are on a waiting list to legally immigrate to America, how do they feel about illegal aliens jumping to the head of the line. Where will all of the money come from to pay for the social services that are needed? The list of needed tax revenue to support a sanctuary state will bankrupt some families in Hawaii. Hawaii has yet to take care of it's dying Hawaiian Natives, myself included. My family property was stolen from my ancestors by the American Government in 1896. Not to mention all of the other natives who lived and owned property in Hawaii.

I realize that I probably will never see any reparations from the US Government, people on the wait list for Hawaiian Homes Lands will continue to die waiting, and I will never be a member of the board of directors of Kamehameha Schools. (Catholic Joke) What I can say for certain is that Hawaii can not allow itself to become a sanctuary state for the people who live there. It is already difficult for the working class in Hawaii to make a living adding on the needed tax revenue will cause more people, like me, to give up on living in the place they grew up in and cause all of the mana of the aina to leave.

What gives the leftist students and faculty the right to bully conservative students? Hasn't bullying been at the center of discussion for many years now? Isn't it the leftist that have called for bullying to stop in both words and actions? It is strange that the same people who call for the end to bullying are the same ones that are in fact the ones doing the bullying?

My friends, I am disgusted at the actions of universities and colleges that have safe areas, only allow leftist views to be heard, don't allow all speech including hate speech, and endorse the actions of their professors to lecture about their political views in the classroom. Teach your children the old wise saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me." Teach them about the "isms" like commun"ism", social"ism" or marks"ism" and the horrors that each has perpetrated through history. It is imperative that they understand that any of those "isms" will end freedom and prosperity for everyone in the world if America every heads down any of those roads. Remember if we forget history will repeat itself.

The Culture of Netflix & Chill

Watching this reminded me of when I was in high school and my awkwardness in love and romance. As a young man, I was taught to treat women with respect and kindness, open doors for them, bring them flowers, pay for everything while on the date, etc. Looking at how the teenagers and young adults today are driven by instant gratification through social media and text, it is no wonder they struggle even more to communicate to the opposite sex.

While I was in High School, I worked at McDonalds's to earn money for college. I had very little time for romance, however, when I was interested in a person I made time to talk to them, call them on the phone, look out for them during brakes and the like. It wasn't stalking, it was getting to know them. We were friends and in every instance, I was unable to convert our friendship into a romantic relationship. It's not to say I didn't try, I did, however in the end, most of the women I felt romantically drawn to, even though a romantic relationship did not occur we are still friends. I say most because I did ruin a few friendships by being petty or childish, it is one of my regrets.

What happened in high school was a long time ago. Eventually, I met my wife and after more than 20 years of marriage, we are as close as ever. Our relationship started as friends that blossomed into dating and to me proposing marriage. I hope that parents are helping their children out and teaching them the wonderful and sometimes heartbreaking ways or romance. Being an example to help them through this new modern world of instant gratification and help them realize good things do come to those who wait and happiness is achievable.

The administration uninvited Professor Jorden Peterson from speaking on campus citing that some students might be offended by him. What? I ask all alumni to stop contributions until this nonsense stops.



If you don't like what a person is saying don't listen. If you don't like a book don't read it. If you don't like something on the radio or television turn it off. I despise Nazis, socialist and communist, however, I will defend their right to speak to my death. Just because I defend their speech it doesn't mean I condone it or agree with it. Having the right to free speech means that you may be insulted or hear things that you don't agree with. That is what free speech is all about.



Now for those idiots who think it is okay to use violence to deal with people whose speech you find offensive, get over yourself. You are the fascist that you proclaim to be against. Yes, Antifa I mean you. Your organization and others that want to use violence to silence people are no better than the "Brown Shirts" of Hitler or the "Black Shirts" of Mussolini. When will the mainstream media report unbiased news? We need to know what is happening. I am tired of listening to opinions and not facts. It used to be reporters told us the facts about a story and we concluded our own opinions. Now we listen to "reporters" telling us a story driven by their narrative.



They report stories from unreliable and uncorroborated sources as truth as long as it fits their narrative i.e. "Russian collusion." Sorry to say, collusion is not a crime. Check this clip 📺 from CNN contributor Van Jones. Now see this clip 📺 about the Senate findings. It took two years and millions of dollars to find nothing? I can't believe we deliberately hampered the operation of the Office of the President to investigate Trump for something that is not even a crime. Imagine the FBI telling you that you are under investigation for talking to someone. Their proof is a report full of lies from someone who hates your guts who was paid for by another person who hates your guts. They can't investigate because being hated is not a crime, just ask Jesus, and nor is talking to someone isn't a crime either.



Now let us look at how the media bullies people to comment or condemn people without knowing the whole story. Watch this clip 📺 of a high school boy. Notice there is no video before so it looks like the Catholic teens are provoking the American Indians. Now watch the whole video 📺 that shows the vile and evil person that is 👿Nathan Phillips👿and his group that confronts the teen. Later news outlets condemn the teen. 👿Nathan Phillips👿in many interviews calls the teen out for being disrespectful, violent, and racist. What a joke.



It was good that this happened because it took attention away from the March for Life that day that drew hundreds of thousands of people as well as the kids from the Catholic high school. The March for Life didn't get the media coverage that it deserved because the Woman's March was going on at the same time. The media covered the Woman's March, or as I like to say the antisemitic, racist, child murderers, and men haters who aim to remove the president. When asked for specifics as to why he should be removed they can't think of any.



There are things that Trump says that are politically incorrect or harsh. He has never said anything racist. He has done a lot of good, i.e. tax cuts, reduced red tape etc. Every effort he puts in the media lies and can't stop spouting "Russia, Russia, Russia" which translates into "Hate Trump, Hate Trump, Hate Trump". Now that the investigation is over, I wonder if they will apologize?

This was the last straw. I have been holding back my anger at many things, liberal fake news, Hollywood nut jobs and racist, bigoted, ideological companies. Even if no one reads what I have to say or agrees at all, I am going to deliver my own take on the things I find offensive to basic Catholic Christin beliefs, American individual rights, and basic common sense.



I find myself in a unique situation in that I have a lot of time on my hands, time that I can use to keep up with what is happening internationally, nationally and locally. I have time to pray, meditate, listen and read. I would like to do more active things like fish, travel, and volunteer, however, due to illness I spend the bulk of my time at home. I listen to sermons, watch videos about the Catholic catechism, watch the news, learn about history and many more subjects that could fill a book.



Why was this the last straw? If you have ever watched any Prager U video on YouTube or anywhere else you will never see anything that is wrong, illegal or immoral. I have seen a few videos that people who can not accept reality or are looking to make someone or a group of people victims upset. The only people who would find any of these videos offensives are people who have little to no morals, have a set agenda, can't accept that others can have a view that is not the same as theirs or are just plain evil.



Yes, I said evil. Whether it is their own haterade of some or all people, following the mob, find pleasure in hurting others, or are influenced by the Devil, it shows in their actions and behaviors. I have chosen to stand up against this evil. I ask for your prayers, support, and guidance as I move forward. Comments and discussion are always welcome.
