NRA's Wayne LaPierre Stands Strong for Law-Abiding Citizens

Join the NRA. I did. If they take away all the guns from the good people, then only the criminals will have them. Criminals do not obey the law so they could care less about the laws on the books now or any future laws that are being proposed. The right to protect yourself and your family comes from God. No man or government can take away a right from God. The best protection against criminals with a gun is an armed citizen. Here are some facts from the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research: In the 13 states with the fewest restrictions on gun ownership, 40 percent of inmates illegally obtained the gun they used. Only about 13 percent purchased the gun from a store or pawn shop. In the other 37 states, including New York state, 60 percent of convicted criminals illegally procured the gun they used. Maybe when you commit a crime buying a gun is a bad idea. Stealing one, getting one from a friend or relative, or buying one illegally is the way you get a gun or guns to use in crime. Law-abiding citizens get their guns the legal and right way. Stop the no-sense and political rhetoric of gun control.
